  • Framsden Greyhound reopens December 20th. Sunday 8 December 2024

    Having successfully raised £400 000, the local community has renovated this pub (formerly the Dobermann) and will reopen it on December 20th. Initially it will only be open part time, 6pm-9pm for drinks only.

  • Stonham Aspal Ten Bells to reopen Thursday 28 November 2024

    The Diss Express reports that plans to reopen this pub, which closed in 2013, had been approved. The pub itself will be smaller than before, with the rest of the site taken up with a café and village shop.

  • GBG nominations now open Thursday 14 November 2024

    Members of Ipswich & East Suffolk CAMRA can now make their nominations for the 2026 Good Beer Guide. Please visit the nominations website. You will need your membership number and password (from the CAMRA HQ website). If you can't remember your password, please visit the CAMRA HQ login page where you will be able to reset it.

    All nominations must be received by December 14th.

    Branch members can now nominate pubs for the 2026 Good Beer Guide.
  • Ipswich Inkerman back on the market Tuesday 5 November 2024

    Plans to refurbish and reopen this pub as "The Guv'nor" have been abandoned and the building is again on the market. It's being advertised as "suitable for convenience stores and drive-through/drive-to operators. "

  • Framsden Greyhound in final push for last £70k for works Monday 28 October 2024

    So far the group which has campaigned to buy then restore the ancient hostelry - which dates back to the 16th or 17th century - has raised £420k from grants and from selling shares to supporters.

    "The last £70k would allow us to to everything we need to do. It's easier to do it now rather than have to close the door (to carry out the works later)"

  • New Burnt Mill Taproom Wednesday 18 September 2024

    Burnt Mill Brewery of Stowmarket, in association with Hopsters, have opened a new taproom on Tide Mill Way in Woodbridge (see The Suffolk CAMRA Pubs Guide). Initially open for six months as a trial, it will become permanent if it's a success. There are six craft ales on tap, along with two ciders, plus a fridge full of cans. All beers are from Burnt Mill's range.

    New management have renovated this pub on the Chantry estate, and reopened it.
