A timber framed pub with quarry-tiled floors throughout. There's a small "L" shaped public bar and a separate restaurant. The bar features a wood-burner and a real fire. There are regular themed food nights andegular music nights including Jazz on the first Sunday of every month and unplugged acoustic sessions every third Tuesday of the month. Quiz nights are held on the second Tuesday of the month. There's a beer festival in August. There are plans plans to add a shop and other facilities. The pub is at the far-western edge of the village, almost in Little Finborough. It was historically listed as being in Upper town, i.e. Combs. and is technically in that parish, as the boundary between Combs & Battisford runs through the car park in front of the pub. IT IS ADVISABLE TO BOOK FOR FOOD IN ADVANCE. The pub is run by a community-interest company on behalf of the village.
