Pub with a food focus offering a comfortable bar area with various extensions to provide space for a large kitchen and restaurant The pub claims to be the first pub to accept card only payments for food and drinks. Outside the site has been re-landscaped and improved with new car parking areas, large garden areas, a wide screen cinema room. The pub is open on Bank Holiday Mondays, but otherwise closed on Mondays. Food Service hours should be checked with the pub prior to a visit.
The core of the building is thought to date from the 17th century, with 18th or 19th century extensions to the left and a 20th century extension to the right. It reopened in early July 2018 after a major building and site refurbishment (previously closed since 2010).
