This 15th century pub has been much restored and modernised recently and now has two bars and a function area for up to 120 people. It has regular live music and a huge choice of food & liquid refreshment, based around 12 keg and 3 cask taps and a 50 bottle wine list including a dozen English wines.
Bar snacks, cakes and pasties available all day and breakfast from 9.30 to 11.30am. The wide-ranging main menus are then served all day from 12 with last orders/sitting at 8pm Sun-Tue and 9pm all other days. Children’s Menu, Small Plates, Fixed Price Menu and a la Carte, plus much more – all are on their website along with online table reservation.
Large car park, plus walkers and cyclists welcome with many local riverside routes to help build an appetite. Regular local community groups including car & motor bike enthusiasts, bridge clubs, book clubs, knitting & cribbage, plus pool table and darts board. Sports are live on TV in the bars and dogs are welcome, although the main restaurant is a dog and TV-free zone.
Guest cask ales include many niche beers. The pub also has 12 keg lines, and include craft ales such as Neck Oil, Levelhead, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Fruli Strawberry Beer and many more. There is also now a range of 50 bottled beers and lagers from all over the world, with a large Belgian and German section.
